Plage de la Bergerie, on the Giens peninsula near La Capte, is first and foremost a family-friendly beach. Its very long stretch of fine sand extends for several kilometers, with shallow water where you can walk far out: ideal for children, who can play and splash in the water safely. The very gentle slope and clear, warm water make it a tranquil swimming spot, well sheltered from the mistral wind. In terms of sports, it's also a good spot for wingfoil and kitesurfing, flat with west (offshore) winds and more choppy with east winds. The natural setting is also appealing: views of Porquerolles and the peninsula, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and a coastal trail leading to the Tour Fondue. The free parking (with electric charging stations) and easy access, including for strollers or people with reduced mobility, are real assets. The only downsides: the beach is narrow and quickly crowded in summer. It's best to arrive early and bring shade, as the site lacks it.
