Nestled in a cove of Étables-sur-Mer, Plage des Godelins is well worth the effort to reach: it is accessed via a steep staircase from a parking lot above, but the climb is amply rewarded for sports enthusiasts. This expansive stretch of fine sand, lifeguarded in season, offers safe swimming with its famous diving board at high tide and its seawater pool, especially popular when the tide retreats far from the shore. For gliding and paddling, the site is well-suited to surfing and kayaking, with conditions varying depending on the tide and exposure. Long-distance swimmers also find an ideal playground here thanks to its long, clear sandy stretch. For walking and running, the beach makes an excellent starting point for the GR34, with a spectacular section leading toward Corps de Garde on its wilder side. At low tide (from a coefficient of around 75), it is even possible to walk to Binic along the coastline — a beautiful hike or jogging route by the sea. The surrounding rocks and coves will also delight shore fishermen and exploration enthusiasts. A versatile spot, both family-friendly and sporty, combining safe swimming, water activities, and direct access to coastal trails.
